Banyana Banyana closed off their Three Nations Challenge campaign with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Zambia at Lucas Moripe Stadium. The Sasol-sponsored team and the Copper Queens were neck-and-neck in a tightly contested first half that ended goalless, with both sides battling for dominance.
In the second half, it was the South African side who came out with renewed determination, pushing forward to the delight of the fans, whose cheers filled the stadium. Their persistence paid off in the 74th minute when Bongeka Gamede curled in a stunning free kick to open the scoring. The momentum remained with Banyana Banyana as they continued to apply pressure on Zambia, culminating in a brilliant finish from Jermaine Seoposenwe, who doubled the lead and sealed a 2-0 victory.
The team’s unity and fighting spirit were evident throughout the match, with Lebohang Ramalepe being named Diski Queen of the Match for her standout performance, as well as the unwavering support of her teammates.
