Banyana Banyana team announced ahead of their encounter with Tanzania in the Olympic qualifier matches

Sasol-sponsored South African senior women’s team, Banyana Banyana, is set to face the Tanzanian Twiga Stars in the third leg of the Olympic qualifier away from home in Dar es Salaam on Friday 23 February. The return match will be played at Mbombela stadium on the 27 of February.

On Monday Coach Ellis announced the squad with great enthusiasm, showcasing a blend of experience and emerging talent that reflects the strength and depth of women’s football in South Africa. The 2024 CAF Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Qualifiers will be the sixth edition of the CAF Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament, the quadrennial international football competition organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to determine which women’s national teams from Africa qualify for the Olympic football tournament.

The team will leave for Tanzania on Tuesday, the 20 of February and return to South Africa on Saturday 24 February 2024.
