Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana has qualified for the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament following their 2-0 win over Burkina Faso at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Monday 4 December 2023.

The team booked their ticket to next year’s WAFCON tournament in Morocco, after beating the Western African team 3-1 on aggregate, this is after they secured a goal away from home in the first leg of the qualifiers last week in the Ivory Coast.

From the opening whistle, Banyana Banyana demonstrated their skills on the field, displaying a blend of technical ability and strategic play. The team’s attacking force was persistent, putting the Burkina Faso defence under constant pressure resulting in a goalless first half from the two teams.
