Banyana Banyana celebrate the win with President Ramaphosa

President Ramaphosa welcomes Banyana Banyana at the union buildings

The Sasol-sponsored Banyana Banyana received a warm welcome from the President of the Republic of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, at the Union Building after winning the 2022 African Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Morocco. President Ramaphosa applauded the entire squad, including the players and technical team, for their splendid performance and remarkable results achieved at the AWCON. President Ramaphosa reiterated that women’s sports should receive the same acknowledgement in all aspects as men.

In addition, Sasol enhanced the celebrations at the Union Building with the performance of the Banyana Banyana tribute song that it had specially commissioned and was created by Busiswa, Lady Du and Dj Jazziq, to celebrate the exceptional results achieved by the team.

Players who included our own award-winning goalkeeper Andile Dlamini, Lebohang Ramalepe and Linda Mothalo, wasted no time and jumped to the front to show Mr President and other guests their celebratory dance moves that have made them trend on social media platforms since being crowned champions.
