Sasol and SAFA Renew Longstanding Banyana Banyana Partnership

Johannesburg, 24 October 2025 – Sasol and the South African Football Association (SAFA) have renewed one of South Africa’s most iconic and longstanding sponsorships for a further four (4) year period, extending the partnership until 2029.

This announcement brings welcome clarity and reaffirms Sasol’s continued commitment as the longest-standing sponsor of women’s football in South Africa, with a partnership spanning over 16 years. Throughout the renewal discussions Sasol and SAFA, focused on a shared goal, to continue empowering the South African senior women’s national team (Banyana Banyana) to do what they do best – represent the nation with pride, purpose, and excellence.

The previous sponsorship cycle concluded on 30 June 2025. While renewal negotiations took longer than initially anticipated, the extended engagement provided an opportunity for both parties to align on shared objectives, ultimately strengthening a partnership that continues to enable pathways for women footballers.

Sasol has proudly supported Banyana Banyana since 2009, a period marked by extraordinary achievements. These include multiple COSAFA Cup titles, qualification for two Olympic Games, their first-ever appearance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2019, a historic knockout stage appearance at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and the WAFCON championship title in 2022, cementing Banyana Banyana’s place in South Africa’s sporting history
