Sasol League action resumes after Easter Weekend break

The Sasol League action continues this weekend throughout the country as teams look to increase their impact with their respective regions. Northern Cape along with the Free State Province will kick-start their league campaigns as this will be the first-round fixtures. The only provinces that will not be in action this weekend will be Mpumalanga and Eastern Cape.

The Gauteng province will head into Week 4 with log leaders JVW as one of four teams with a 100% winning record having yet to lose a match. The Sasol League National Championship finalists from last year will play host to rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies FC at the Bedfordview stadium on Sunday, 23 April. The University of Johannesburg will play host to Springs Home Sweepers at the UJ Sport campus with the clash taking place on Saturday 22 April. Other notable fixtures in this region will see VUT welcome TUT-PTA on Sunday at the Isak Steyl Stadium in what promises to be in a key clash in the fight for the bragging rights amongst Universities of Technology.

In the Free State province defending champions, Blomefontein Celtic should prove too strong for Kolisang Ladies when they meet at the Mmabana stadium in Thaba Nchu on Saturday, 27 April. Blomefontein-based side, Kovsies Ladies will play host to MO2KFA FC on the same day at the UFS campus as both teams will look to kick start their league campaign on a positive note. The Tsunami Queens will look to get on a winning start as they welcome Grassland Ladies at the Bluegumbosch stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 13h00.

The Western Cape considered to be one of the strongest region for women football will look to live up to that trend as teams head into week 3 of fixtures. Cape powerhouse, UWC Ladies get to play in front of their home fans as they come up against RV United on Saturday, 15 April, at the UWC campus. With a few of their players knocking on the Banyana Banyana door, Stellenbosch-based side Maties welcome Burnley United at the Lentelus Sports grounds in what promises to be a mouth-watering clash amongst the two teams.
